Community Building Technical Advisory CommitteeMeeting Minutes <br />Meeting #3 August 12, 2025 <br />Little Canada City Hall <br />Agenda <br />Advisory Committee Present: Derek Anderson, Steve Anderson, Amanda Guiterrez, Shawn Hipp, <br />Ron Horwath, Emelie Lindabaur, Laura Linehan, Curt Loschy, Dave Miller, Maggie DeLong Miller, <br />Monika Miller, Jason Owens,Asa Posner, JordanRuplinger, Bryce Shearen, Kate Williams <br />Absent: None. <br />Public Comment <br />Online comments from the Community Building Feedback Form were shared. <br />Welcome <br />The meetingwas called to order at 6:00pm by Monika Miller. TAC members introduced themselves <br />to the group. <br />Tour Update <br />Steve A shared information regarding upcoming building tour opportunities for TAC members. <br />Additional tour dates to come. <br />Industry Professional <br />Jason Hicks, New Brighton Parks and Recreation Assistant Director joined the TAC virtually to share <br />insight in the City of New Brighton’s community building journey. Freedom Park was built in 2000 <br />along with three other park buildings in New Brighton. Two buildings have shifted into park shelters <br />and the other two are getting fully renovated. Hicks emphasized the importance of community <br />engagement in the planning process. The forms of engagement used were public meetings, <br />consultants present at events, social pinpoint maps online, social media and newsletter. New <br />Brighton used abatement bonds, capital assets replacement program and grant funding to fund the <br />new buildings. <br />Community Partners <br />Shawn Hipp, neighbor of Pioneer Park and member of the TAC, shared insight she had gathered <br />from the neighbors living near Pioneer Park. Hipp has connected with neighbors along Centerville <br />Rd and Desoto St to share information and gather feedback regardingthe community building. <br />Most neighbors are supportive but have concerns regarding driveways, excess crowds, <br />īÍIJîŜèÍŕĖIJČϠώŜôèŪŘĖťƅϠώIJĺĖŜôώÍIJîώīĖČēťĖIJČϟώēôώIJôĖČēæĺŘēĺĺîώſĺŪīîώīĖħôώÍώŜĖČIJĖƱèÍIJťώæÍŘŘĖôŘώťĺώēôīŕώ <br />block noise from events. <br />The TAC went to break at 7:07pm. <br />The TAC reconvened at 7:15pm. <br />101
