<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Fischer and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Community Building Technical Advisory Committee <br /> <br />DATE: November 12, 2025 <br /> <br />RE: Community Building TAC Report and Recommendation <br /> <br />Action To Be Considered: <br />Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Acceptance of the Community Building TAC Report & Recommendations and authorize staff <br />to develop a Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure engineering and design services for a <br />community building. <br /> <br />Background: <br />The Community Building Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has been busy in 2025, meeting on <br />many occasions. The TAC has discussed function/use, reviewed concepts, met with industry <br />professionals and toured nearby community buildings. <br /> <br />The TAC will present the report and their recommendations for a community building. The following <br />recommendations are being made by the TAC: <br /> <br /> <br />Build a Community Building <br />After analyzing the current Little Canada parks and recreation system, considering future <br />infrastructure and reviewing feedback received from engagement efforts, the TAC recommends <br />building a community building. In support of the recommendations to build a community building, <br />the TAC also recommends: <br />• Contracting professional design services to: <br />o Design a building that fits within our system and community needs <br />o Create a building that represents Little Canada (e.g., “Maple Leaf Vibes”) <br />o Begin design and engineering services in 2026
