2026 cost for LTD insurance will be $5,500. City staff is proposing to use the savings of $7,000 <br />savings from the decreased yearly premiums for STD insurance to cover this expense. It is <br />recommended that the city pays 100% of this benefit, as employees are now responsible for a <br />slightly larger contribution toward the MN Paid Leave program, which amounts to approximately <br />$6,500 annually. <br />Staff Recommendations: <br />Staff recommends that the city pay 100% of the cost for Long-Term Disability insurance beginning <br />in January 2026.
