MINUTES <br />LITTLE <br />CANADA <br />ROAD <br />IMPROVEMENT <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 5, 2012 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held <br />on the 5th day of April, 2012, in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair <br />Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dan Slain <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ABSENT: Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Mr. Lee Elfering, City Engineer <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the March 1, 2012 <br />meeting. <br />The City Engineer appeared before the Commission and reviewed the <br />proposed improvement of Little Canada Road from the freeway to <br />Edgerton Street. The Engineer indicated that the project was initially <br />proposed as a mill and overlay project, but has expanded. He indicated <br />that from the 35E bridge to the end of the existing concrete curbing, the <br />project will be a mill and overlay, and from that point to Edgerton Street <br />will be a full -depth recycle /reconstruction project that will include the <br />installation of concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, and right -turn lanes <br />at McMenemy Road and at Edgerton Street. Sidewalk is proposed along <br />the entire south side of the street. Bike traffic will be accommodated on- <br />street with 3 '/2 foot bike shoulders. The Engineer pointed out that the <br />road width will taper down from 4 lanes to 2 lanes in the area of the <br />second access drive to the St. John's Church property. The Engineer <br />noted that on- street parking of about 19 spaces will be provided on the <br />north side of the street adjacent to St. John's Church, and an additional 3 <br />on- street spaces will be on the south side near the rectory. <br />
