Parks and Recreation Department ---6 <br />Th e Parks & Recreation Department promotes community engagement, wellness, and <br />pride by providing exceptional public recreation services, activities, and facilities to the <br />Little Canada community. In 2025, the Parks and Recreation Department completed <br />several projects and new initiatives. <br />2025 Project Name 2025 Project Details <br />Pioneer Park Vegetation <br />Restoration and Stormwater <br />Improvements <br />Th e vegetation restoration and stormwater improvements at Pioneer Park <br />cover the northern section of the park. Th e concept that was selected was <br />a complete scrub of unwanted vegetation, replacement with native species <br />and, installation of a pondage system <br />Community Building Technical <br />Advisory Committee <br />A several month advisory committee resulted in a fi nal report with four <br />recommendations issued and approved by the City Council in <br />November of 2025 <br />Community Garden New in 2025: 20’X20’ garden plots were rented to Little Canada Commu- <br />nity members at 2828 Condit Street <br />Art in the Park <br />Little Canada’s Art in the Park program showcases local, <br />community-created 2D artwork (paintings, photos, digital art) on <br />display at Pioneer Park during the summer, highlighting local talent with <br />submissions from those who live, work, or go to school in the city. <br />241 <br />Program <br />Participants <br />8,579 <br />Event <br />attendees <br />12 <br />Snow removal <br />events <br />25 <br />Programs and <br />events <br />Parks and Recreation Department <br />By the Numbers
