DEFINITION OF ADVERTISING: <br />Sign - Advertising. A billboard, poster panel, painted bulletin board, or other <br />communication device which is used to advertise products, goods, and /or services <br />which are not exclusively related to the premise on which the sign is located. <br />BANNERS: <br />i. Advertising/Promotional Banners. <br />Each business in a commercial or industrial zoning <br />district (B -W, B -1, B -2, B -3, B -4, B -I, I -1, 1 -2, I -P) <br />and lawful commercial uses within the PUD district <br />shall be allowed one (1) banner not exceeding 40 <br />square feet in area that must be affixed to the <br />building or mounted on an existing, double -post <br />pylon sign. Said banner must be maintained in an <br />aesthetically pleasing manner and may not impair <br />visibility upon a public right -of -way. Any banner <br />not complying with these provisions shall be <br />considered a temporary sign. <br />TEMPORARY SIGNS: <br />4. a.l. Temporary use of portable signs, banners not meeting the <br />provisions of B.1.i., pennants, window signs in excess of <br />that established below, and similar devices shall require a <br />permit pursuant to Section 903.110.F. of this ordinance. In <br />the case of single tenant buildings, a permit shall not be <br />issued for more than thirty (30) days nor shall a permit be <br />issued within thirty (30) days from the termination date of <br />a prior permit. In no case shall permits exceed three (3) in <br />a calendar year or a total of sixty (60) days in a calendar <br />year. In the case of multi - tenant properties, a permit shall <br />not be issued for more than thirty (30) days. In no case <br />shall peintits exceed three (3) in a calendar year per tenant, <br />or a total of sixty (60) days in a calendar year per tenant. <br />Further, no more than two (2) tenants, or 50% of the <br />tenants at one time, may possess temporary sign permits at <br />the same time. If spotlights are used in conjunction with <br />temporary signs, such lights shall not be operated during <br />more than five (5) days in conjunction with any single <br />permit and shall be placed in such a manner as to not <br />constitute a traffic hazard. Temporary signs shall be <br />removed from display immediately upon lapse of permit. <br />
