MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 23, 2005
LaValle suggested that discussion of this matter be tabled so that the
individual Council Members can look at some of the streets and how they
are posted. Blesener and Montour agreed. Montour noted, however, that
there has been no reason in the past five years to change the postings that
were enacted in 2000.
Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2005 -2 -54 — TABLING ACTION ON THE ISSUE
OF PARKING RESTRICTIONS UNTIL THE MARCH 23, 2005
COUNCIL MEETING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Montour, LaValle, Keis, Blesener, Allan.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PURCHASE The City Administrator reported that Gordie Howe and Blue Chip
AGREEMENT Properties have requested that they be released from the purchase
FOR agreement from the County Road B property owned by the City. In
COUNTY analyzing their potential development of this site, the costs have become
ROAD B too high to make their project cost - effective. The Administrator noted
PROPERTY that Mr. Howe and Blue Chip Properties have paid escrow dollars to the
City. The Administrator indicated that if the City is agreeable to releasing
the purchase agreement, he would recommend that the City market the
property on its own via a sign on Highway 36.
Blesener asked if the City has incurred any costs relative to entering into
the purchase agreement. The City Administrator indicated that there has
been opportunity costs given the property has been off the market. He
also indicated that there may have been some engineering costs incurred in
reviewing some preliminary development proposals.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2005 -2 -55 — CANCELLING THE PURCHASE
AGREEMENT WITH GORDIE HOWE AND BLUE CHIP
PROPERTIES FOR THE COUNTY ROAD B LAND SUBJECT TO
REIMBURSEMENT OF CITY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS
AGREEMENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Allan, Montour, Keis.
Nays (0).
