MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />November 4, 2004 <br />.............. <br />projects should be done at the same time in order <br />to say g. ue to time, it would be tmposst ur fields this fall. <br />SIGNS Sanders stated that bids have been received for the signs at Spooner Park and the Firefighters <br />Memorial Trail. He asked for the Commission's direction on pursuing construction of the signs. <br />Cost of the sign for Spooner Park is $26,206 (includes the sign panel, two stone columns, and <br />pavers with the city logo). Cost of the sign for the Firefighters Memorial Trail is $13,300 <br />(includes the sign panel and two brick columns). <br />The Director stated that money has been budgeted for the project. The City has talked about <br />approaching the fire department for additional funding. Gray asked if Canadian Days was <br />willing to contribute money for the Spooner Park sign. The Director said that they did express <br />interest earlier, but have not been approached recently about the idea. <br />Steizzert reconzmended approval of the low bid for the Spooner Park and Firefighters <br />Memorial Trail signs in the amount of $26,206 and $13,300 respectively. <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 4— 0. <br />fTRRCT ' 'S The Director reported on the following items: <br />_ —PORT <br />The Director handed out the proposed youth activity fees for 2005. He stated that the LCRA <br />already agreed to buy down the cost of activities by 20 %. He indicated that the fees are <br />prop`. --d and may need changing, but are pretty accurate.
