14. "AT WILL" EMPLOYMENT. Dircks understands and agrees that his employment with
the City of Little Canada is "at will" and may be terminated without cause, without the need
to indicate a specific reason, and with or without notice at any time at the option of either
himself or the City of Little Canada. As an "at will" employee, Direks understands and
agrees that neither this document, any policy of the City of Little Canada, nor any
representation made by the City to him shall be construed to constitute a contract of
employment or a modification to his "at will" employment. Dircics understands and agrees
that his position as a department head is specifically excluded from the City's Personnel
Policy and that the provisions contained in said Personnel Policy have no application to his
employment, except as stated herein. All rights governing his employment relationship with
the City are set forth in this Agreement.
15. OTHER PROVISIONS TO APPLY. Dircks shall be subject to Section 15 of the City's
Personnel Policy entitled "Other Information" during his tenure with the City. Direks
acknowledges receipt of this section as well as any other sections of the Personnel Policy
previously referenced in this Agreement.
16. SEVERABILITY. If any provision, or any portion thereof, contained in this Agreement is
held to be unconstitutional, invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the Agreement, or
portions thereof, shall be deemed severable, shall not be affected, and shall remain in full
force and effect.
This Agreement shall become effective upon approval and execution by the City and by
Dircks.
6
