Please note that city staff has concern with Attachment B from an equity standpoint in that this <br />option gives one class of business permitted signage that another class does not have. There may <br />be other ways for the City's liquor establishments to advertise for team sponsorship, such as <br />through the use of reader boards on pylon signage. <br />Note that the temporary sign ordinance requires a deposit as set by Council resolution. <br />Therefore, the $100 deposit amount for banners versus the $200 for other temporary signs can be <br />addressed in that manner. <br />Pending input and comments from the Council, the next step would be to call for a public <br />hearing to consider amending the Zoning Code relative to temporary signs. <br />H: \KathyG \Correspondence \Kathy 2005 \Banners Memo.doc <br />2 <br />
