Elf CRIHG -ASSOCI-ATES
'Mt UURTA
December 9, 2005
File No. 120020E -0071
Honorable Mayor and City Council
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road E.
Little Canada, MN 55117-1633
RE: 2005 STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
CHANGE ORDER #1
Dear Council Members:
During the course of the above referenced project the Contractor was directed to
complete extra work, some of which was requested by those affected by the project and
some due to conditions that arose in the field. This extra work was not included within
the original bid and is to be covered by issuance of Change Order #1. A summary of the
changes completed are as follows:
Two additional catch basins were added on Noel Drive by request of the
Watershed District. The first catch basin is located just south of their
driveway and was installed to provide a structure inlet to the storm water
detention swale on the south end of their property. The second catch basin
was added downstream of the last rainwater garden on the Watershed
property. This catch basin was requested to allow for study and
measurement of the rain garden's effectiveness.
A yard storm water inlet was added on Carla Lane when it was determined in
the field that while the boulevard area adjacent to the street drained away
from the street, a ponding conditions was going to be created in the yard due
to higher elevations next to the home.
The original fence specified in the project specifications required the
installation of a top tension wire. The existing chain link fence removed along
the school property had a top rail. A top rail was therefore added to the new
fence. In working with the school on the sidewalk easement and replacement
of their fence they requested that some additional openings be installed to
allow more access points to retrieve balls along the soccer fields. Therefore,
3 new openings were added.
Due to modification of the street grades near the sitting area at Gervais Mill
Park, the planting bed area had to be revised. Some additional wood walls
were added and others modified to revise the sitting area per a plan
developed by Bill Sanders.
Ltr-120905 -CC (CO 01) (2)
10062 Flanders Court NE, Blaine, MN 55449 - Phone: (763) 780 -0450 - Fax: (763) 780 -0452
