With the above changes here are some key highlights: <br />4. Our gross levy decreases by $30,305 which results in a 2.32% levy increase <br />($2,180,883 vs. $2,131,418) <br />.k Our net levy decreases by $30,305 which results in a 4.32 % levy increase <br />($1,945,418 vs. $1,864,775) <br />4. Our tax rate will be 21.332% in 2006 compared to 23.682% in 2005, a <br />9.92% decrease. <br />k Preliminary information provided by the County indicates that our tax ranking <br />will be one spot lower than last year based on the preliminary levies of other <br />Ramsey County cities. Also, the average levy increase for all Ramsey County <br />cities was 4.91% with six of nineteen cities being less than 4 %. I will provide <br />more detailed information on this at the budget workshop. <br />Capital Fund: <br />The General Capital Improvement Fund- <br />• Currently the 2005 General Fund surplus in projected at $44,258. Therefore, no <br />transfer to the CIP Fund will be likely for 2005. However, given this fund's <br />balance and current expectations the non - transfer is not an issue, as the fund <br />appears to be working well. <br />• The replacement of the fire station roof has been delayed until 2006. <br />• Donations include $114,750 from the Fire Department for the fire truck and trail <br />signs and $15,000 from Canadian Days for the Spooner Park signage. <br />Infrastructure Fund: <br />• The streets being considered for improvement are as follows: <br />Morrisson Street (Demont Avenue to Rose Lane) <br />Rose Lane (McMenemy Street to west end) <br />Sextant Avenue (Savage Lane to Morrison Street) <br />Savage Lane (Sextant Avenue to north end) <br />Ruth Street (Demont Avenue to Old County Road C) <br />Labore Road (Centerville to DeSoto) <br />City Center parking lot <br />3 <br />
