MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 12, 2012 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 12th day of <br />April, 2012 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Dan Knudsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Jon Hall <br />Ms. Jennifer Maleitzke <br />Ms. Heidi Murphy <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES The March 8, 2012 Planning Commission meeting minutes were approved <br />as submitted. <br />AMENDMENT Jack Grotkin, RJ Ryan Construction, appeared before the Commission to <br />TO CUP review the request of Lapham Hickey Steel for an Amendment to <br />PERMIT & Conditional use Permit for proof of parking and a Subdivision to combine <br />SUBDIVISION two platted parcels. Grotkin reported that Lapham Hickey would like to <br />3250 construct an addition on the west side of their building to increase <br />SPRUCE production. There will also be a remodel of the existing office area and <br />STREET — parking will be increased. <br />LAPHAM <br />HICKEY Knudsen asked about an increase in the number of employees and whether <br />STEEL parking will be adequate. A representative of Lapham Hickey indicated <br />that the company will have 70 employees working over 4 shifts, including <br />office staff. The increase in parking will satisfy both current and future <br />parking needs after the addition is completed. The City Planner noted that <br />the proposal is for a total of 90 parking spaces while the Code requires <br />170. The Planner asked the maximum shift size. The Lapham Hickey <br />representative indicated that there would be 20 to 30 employees per shift; <br />therefore, 90 parking spaces are more than necessary to meet their needs. <br />20 <br />
