City Council of Vadnais Heights Meeting Minutes Excerpts Dec. 16, 2003 03 -12 -286 "RESOLVED, to approve the general layout of the proposed I -35E and I- 694 reconstructed highway sections within the City of Vadnais Heights, along with the miscellaneous improvements associated with said project, and approve the future cost participation for certain provisions specified therein, all subject to the consideration of staff in items #1 -8 of the memo dated December 11, 2003 from the City Planning Director, with the caveat to item #3 concerning landscaping and other aesthetic opportunities, the addition to item #4 to include Labore Road Bridge, that staff notify potential developers /landowners of the May In deadline for preliminary plat approval to receive noise wall considerations, and that MN/DOT and the Metropolitan Council work with Vadnais Heights to strongly encourage park and ride use and alternative routes to ease traffic during the construction." Mayor Banovetz asked Gaston to accept a friendly amendment to his motion to add item #9, respectfully requesting that the City's percentage of the project costs for esthetic design features be increased from seven to ten percent. Gaston and Johannsen accepted the friendly amendment. Ayes — 3 Nays — 0 The resolution was adopted. Upon motion by Johannsen, seconded by Gaston, it was 03 -12 -287 "RESOLVED, to direct staff to look at the Vadnais Road area and prepare a recommendation and plan to address water drainage issues, and work with MN/DOT to determine how the recommended action can be encompassed into one package, where possible, and present that recommendation to the City Council, with related cost estimates." Ayes — 3 Nays — 0 Mayor Banovetz asked that staff keep Mr. Burger informed of the progress and recommendations. The resolution was adopted. - 1 0 -
