Hanson On Wednesday, March 31, 2004, the City of Little Canada received, and opened proposals for our spring street sweeping. In an effort to get the best value for the city, we requested bids on three different options: 1. Contractor provides the sweepers and city trucks haul the sweepings. (unit price) 2. Contractor provides the sweepers and hauls the sweepings to a city site. (lump sum) 3. Contractor provides the sweepers and hauls the sweepings to his site. (lump sum) We received and opened proposals from the following four companies: Spring Street Sweeping Cost Comparison Company Option #1 Option #2 Option #3 Their sweepers /our dump trucks Contractor Sweeps & Hauls to City Site Contractor Sweeps & Hauls to his Disposal Site Cost /Hour for sweeper & Driver Cost /Hour for City Truck &Driver Estimated Hours Total Allied George's Companies American Lot Maint. $67.00 $72.00 $82.00 $45.00 $45.00 $45.00 70 70 70 $7,840.00 $8,190.00 $8,890.00 $6,720.00 $7,500.00 $5,74000 $8,900.00 $7,000.00 $6,740.00 After evaluating the proposals it was determined that option 2 provided the best value for the City of Little Canada. The low proposal was for option 2, American Lot Maintenance, Inc. at a lump sum price of $5,740. It is recommended that the Council direct staff to enter into a contract with American Lot Maintenance, Inc. for our spring street sweeping for the lump sum price of $5,740.
