agreed that one motor home will be gone by May 7 and the other by the May 31. This tenant has
cancelled his lease with Little Canada Hall and will be moving his business because he cannot
store the motor homes. I have told both the owner and tenant as of June 15`, the City will start
issuing citations.
Ruth Street Four Ilexes
At the last Council update it was decided that the City should contact the property owners along
Ruth Street for a neighborhood meeting. The concern for this meeting is the recent activities
down in the Ruth Street area. As of the last update, we have only had one complaint reported to
us. I have also not seen any graffiti around the neighborhood. Staff is still planning on
conducting this neighborhood meeting and will be working with Ramsey County Crime
Prevention on a "calls for service analysis ".
Junk Car Sweep
The first round of letters has all gone out. There were two cases were I did not send the standard
form letter because of ongoing concerns with the property (3070 Edgerton Street St Neamy 525
LaBore.Road). Otherwise, I have sent out 82 letters to homeowners with junk cars on their
property. I have only received a handful of calls back to update me on the status of the junk
vehicle. The deadline stated in the letter for correcting the violation is May 15. After that time, I
will reinspect the homes to verify compliance and if not send a final warning notice. See
attached Code Enforcement Log for the homes that letters were sent to.
Ruff Cuts — 81 E. Little Canada Road
In 2003, I sent several letters to Ruff Cuts about their landscaping and the need to bring it into
compliance with their approved landscape plan. At this time, they have not completed
established the pond in front to the building or planted the appropriate amount of trees along the
east of north of the building. During our last conversation in September 2003, Wendy was going
to reseed the property and if that did not take she was going to work with Prairie Restoration. I
gave her this contact as they completed the Market Place Pond for the City. She agreed if the
seed did not take this time, she would pursue other options.
I drove by the property this week and it does not appear much has happened. Some of the trees
do not appear to have made it through the winter and the pond is not much better. I will be
sending her a final letter to bring this property into compliance. Adequate time has been given to
establish this area. The City is still holding a $10,000 landscape bond to ensure compliance.
n:Vessica.lACode EnforcementACorespondeneeVCoec 11n12004 \5 -7 Council Update.doe
