BMP Name: Regulatory Program to Probrtt Discharge into the MS4 Unique ID: 3 -02 -R Storm Water G� of Little Can q a MGM: #3 — Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination COMMUNITY PRIDE 1969 - X03 Description: The City of Little Canada, with the assistance of the RWMWD, will develop an ordinance or other regulatory mechanism to prohibit non -storm water discharges into the storm sewer system. Justification: Ordinances and codes provide authority to inspect systems and facilities, prevent illicit connections and discharges, and allow for punitive measures. Regulatory programs also allow the City to require control measures such as testing and monitoring plans. The City can also use the program for informing employees, business and resident ofpotential hazards. This is a required BMP in the Permit part V.G.3.b. Review current City ordinances, other City ordinances and on -line programs that could be implemented in the City (by March 10, 2006) 2. Complete background and draft ordinance structure by March 10, 2006. 3. Begin foiuial ordinance development process by March 10, 2007. 4.
