is <br />BMP Name: Storm System Outfall and Bar <br />Unique ID: 3 -03 -R <br />;VICKI: #3 — Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination <br />G` ok Little Canard <br />C.,113111113/ 341)E] <br />1953 - x03 <br />Description: <br />The City of Little Canada will prepare a map that shows the location of appropriate stet ill sewer <br />system components and receiving water bodies. The map will facilitate management of the overall <br />illicit discharge detection and elimination program. The map is currently in draft form and will be <br />more fully developed under this BMP. <br />Justification: <br />A comprehensive electronic stoma sewer system map of the MS4 has not yet been completed. As- <br />built information is available in paper format and the City is looking into the possibility of digitizing <br />the as -built information. Once the map is completed it will facilitate management of the overall <br />illicit discharge detection and elimination program, the outfall inspection program and targeting <br />outfalls for more in -depth inspection. The map will also help coordinate management activities to <br />remove illicit connections and track storm system maintenance. This BMP is required under the <br />NPDES General Permit in Part V.G.3.a. <br />Responsible Staff /Position: <br />Public Works Director 651.766.4049 <br />Measurable Goals: <br />1. Collect and digitize (as needed) existing plans and other know devices not on plans. Verify <br />accuracy and standardize map nomenclature. By March 2005, identify all ponds, streams, lakes <br />and wetlands, structural pollution control devices (grit chambers, separators, etc.) pipes and <br />conveyances 24 inches in diameter and over, all outfalls to receiving waters, discharge points <br />leaving the MS4 and stractures that discharge directly to groundwater. <br />2. From March 2005 to March 2008, coordinate mapping updates with street and storm system <br />maintenance staff and with engineering /planning staff involved in the review and <br />implementation of new practices. <br />3. Completed MS4 Map incorporated into final annual report due March 10, 2008. <br />Implementation Schedule: <br />1. See measurable goal descriptions. <br />Education Program /Public Outreach Component: <br />1. Audience or audiences: City staff involved in storm water /water resources activities, residents <br />interested in the MS4 program, and for presentation at the annual City Council meeting. <br />2. Increased awareness: For all the above listed individuals to identify with the basic goal of the <br />MS4 program - to reduce illicit and other pollutant discharges to District waters. <br />Annual Reporting Items: <br />1.
