Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
Bill Blesener
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
During the development of the design for the reconstruction of Middle Street it was determined that there is
approximately a 7 -foot offset in the Middle Street right -of -way between Market Place Drive and First Bank
Drive. This offset is on the site of the proposed Mendota Homes Town - Offices as shown on the attached
sketch.
A preliminary review of Mendota FIomes site plans indicates that they have left sufficient room on the west
side of their proposed development to dedicate the needed seven feet to keep the Middle Street alignment
straight. Ajog in the Middle Street alignment could pose a safety hazard to traffic movements.
Based on the above and staffs concern for safe traffic movement on our city streets, we recommend that
any approvals of the Mendota HIomes Town -Office development include the dedication of
approximately seven feet needed on the west side of their site (so their property line lines up with the
property line to the south) to the City of Little Canada for Middle Street right -of -way.
H:AGregSVCorrespondenceVGreg 5 2003 \Middle Street right- of- way.doc
