Fahey
Council Member Ivlr. Matt Anderson
Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle
ABSENT:
Council Member.
Council Member
Mr. Bill Blesener
Mr. Rick Montour
ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson
City Engineer Mr. Lee Elfering
Deputy Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer
IMP. NO. Mayor Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider the improvement
2004 -10 of Middle Street from Little Canada Road to Market Place Drive by
MIDDLE road reconstruction, watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage
STREET improvements.
assafargamoratta
The City Engineer reviewed the existing conditions as well as the
proposed improvements as proposed in Middle Street Option 1 which
includes on- street angle parking with sidewalk on the west side of the
street and Option 2 which eliminates the on- street parking and continues
to show sidewalk on the west side of the street. The City Administrator
noted that our original concept for Middle Street had angle parking along
the entire west side of (Little Canada Road to Market Place Drive).
However, with US Bank remaining, disruptions are needed for First Bank
Drive, US Bank's drive - through lane, and an opening to the Sherman
development. The City Engineer noted that the on- street parking would
provide for only 14 parking spaces given these openings and would be a
maintenance problem. The on- street parking also adds approximately
$20,000 to project costs.
9
