MINUTES CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 25, 2004 GAMBLING ORDINANCE JUNK CAR SWEEP TWIN LAKE AREA WATERMAIN Sans Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -2 -34 — INSTRUCTING THE CITY PLANNER TO REVIEW THE PUD ZONING DISTRICT RELATIVE TO THE DISCUSSION THIS EVENING The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (3) Fahey, LaValle, Anderson. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The Council instructed the City Administrator to send a letter to the County indicating that :Little Canada is not interested in a suburban court facility within the City. The Council reviewed the recommendation of City staff relative to clarification of 10% Fund required contributions. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -2 -35 — INSTRUCTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AN AMENDMENT TO GAMBLING ORDINANCE AS RELATES TO REQUIRED 10% FUND CONTRII3 UTIONS AS RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (3) LaValle, Fahey, Anderson. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator reviewed his report dated February 20''' relative to a more proactive approach to the elimination of junk cars within the City. It was the consensus of the Council to support a more proactive approach provided that consideration is given to seasonal weather conditions in requiring the removal of these vehicles. Anderson suggested that information be provided in the City's newsletter, on cable TV, and on the Web site informing property owners of the City's proactive approach in eliminating junk cars. The City Administrator reported that since the February 23rd Improvement Hearing, he has contacted the Vadnais Heights' City Administrator and was informed that there is the potential that Vadnais Heights will loop - 2 3 - 13
