515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www.ci.little-canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Jessica Jagoe, Code Enforcement Officer
DATE: March 19, 2004
RE: Townoffice Parking Concern
MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
Bill Blesener
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. 1- Janson
In reviewing our ordinance for townoffice parking requirements, it was brought to my attention
that during the winter months the Tacheny Townoffice Park had been using the A &W parking
lot as an overflow. I talked with Patrick Nickleson (Owner of A &W Restaurant) to verify if this
in fact was true. Patrick informed me that yes, the mortgage company in particular, was using
the A &W lot during the winter. He indicated that he has requested that they stop using his lot,
since his business has reopened. It is his understanding that the mortgage company has gone to
other business nearby requesting additional parking spaces from them. He believes one business
has allowed them to use three to five spaces. Patrick says that is still not enough to handle the
amount of additional parking they need. Patrick noted on average they had an overflow of 20
cars daily using his lot. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the mortgage company holds meetings and
the parking need would be even higher.
H :Vessicai \Correspondence\Jessica 2004Vrownoffice Council Memo.doc
