Snow fall greater than 6" (this is a usually an all day or multi -day storm) <br />Our goal is to provide safe unobstructed access of our streets, cul -de -sacs, and sidewalks to enable <br />routine travel and access for emergency services to our residences. <br />Equipment Used: <br />Number <br />Description <br />.Attachments <br />92 <br />Single Axle Dump Truck <br />Front & Wing Plows, Rear Sander <br />500 <br />Single Axle Dump Truck <br />Front & Wing Plows, Rear Sander <br />93 <br />Loader <br />10' Front Plow or Bucket <br />203 <br />Small Dump Truck <br />10' Front Plow <br />600 <br />Bobcat <br />Snow Blower, Broom, or Bucket <br />300 <br />Pickup <br />8' Front Plow <br />97 <br />Small Dump Truck <br />9' Front Plow with box sander <br />Streets: <br />Large Trucks ( #92 & #500) <br />One truck is assigned to the east side of I -35E; the second truck is assigned to the west <br />side of 1 -35E and the Twin Lake Area. Plowing usually starts at 5:00 am (depends on <br />when snow storm starts). <br />Plow main streets first to try to keep them open. Secondary streets are plowed next <br />if possible. Storm forecast is evaluated every two hours to determine course of <br />action. <br />Loader /Small Dump ( #93 & #203) <br />Loader ( #93) is assigned to west side of 1 -35E and #203 is assigned to east side of I -35E, <br />This activity is not started until magnitude of storm is determined and best course <br />of action is developed. Plow short and /or narrow streets and cul -de -sacs. One <br />person starts this work while other person starts on sidewalks first then switches <br />back to streets and cul -de -sacs. <br />Sidewalks: <br />Bobcat ( #600) usually starts at 5:00 am (depends on storm). Estimated time to complete all <br />sidewalks is 2 to 3 hours. Once completed, driver switches over to vehicle #93 or #203 to do <br />short and /or narrow streets and cul -de -sacs. <br />Assigned to sidewalks and any paved area adjacent to a street. <br />This activity is not started until magnitude of storm is determined and best course <br />of action is developed. Clears snow on the same sidewalks as listed above. <br />Parking Lots: <br />Pickup ( #300) and small dump truck ( #97) clear snow from City parking lots <br />(McMenemy/Little Canada Road, City Center, Fire Station, and Old Fire Hall) and help <br />with cul -de -sacs. This activity is not started until magnitude of stortn is determined and <br />best course of action is developed. <br />McMenemy /Little Canada Road Parking lot has to be cleared by 6 am and the City <br />Center lot has to be cleared by 7 art.
