Vehicle Parked on Street (during Snow Emergencies)
Ramsey County Deputy Sheriff is to automatically drive City and tag and /or have vehicles towed.
City crews clear the area around vehicle to the best of their ability, and develop a list of vehicles
and locations for the County (requested by Ramsey County Sheriff Dispatch). City crews call
Ramsey County Sheriff Dispatch (651.484.3366) and request vehicles be tagged and towed. A
Deputy Sheriff will respond, as available, and tag and tow vehicles at their discretion. If list of
vehicles is extensive, and /or if Deputy Sheriff is not available, City crew will call Public Works
Director in to help identify vehicle locations and coordinate activities with Deputy Sheriff.
City crews clear area where a vehicle was parked ONLY if they are passing by the area during
sanding activities or the general area needs to be pushed back (cleaned wider to provide more
snow storage in anticipation of another snow storm). NO SPECIAL TRIPS ARE MADE TO
CLEAR AREAS WHERE VEHICLES WERE PARKED UNLESS DIRECTED BY
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR.
t(:vGregS\Snow Plowi 1g`Snow Plowing Proceduresdoc
4 of 7
