Ali Enayati — 594 E. County Road B2
Since the last update I sent in October 2003, it does not appear that much has changed with the
status of the property. Joel and I have met with Ali on several occasions and he has an interest in
selling the home to the City, but does not want to deal with any other private parties. During
these meetings, Ali indicates he does not have the money to continue living in the home without
renting out portions of the home. He is aware that he will be in violation again if he closes off
the upper and lower levels of the home. He says this will not happen, but it would be hard to
monitor. Our ordinance does allow for three members unrelated persons to live in a home. Ali
has also tossed out the idea of leaving the home and renting it out as Section 8 housing.
I contacted Jay Maher at the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department and he told me that they did
make an arrest on Christmas Eve on a felony warrant for possession of meth. The individual
arrested at the home told Jay that he lives at the home and pays rent to live in the basement. It
was not determined how many individuals besides this gentleman live in the home. Jay indicated
the sheriffs department has not received many calls to respond to this home, but has stopped by
on a few occasions. He assured me that the status and dealings at this property have not
changed.
On a side note, the water heater has been fixed. Ryan Plumbing did verify that there was a gas
leak, but the water heater itself was in good condition. Since then, the gas, electric, and water
have been turned back on to the home.
Precision Tree — 50 S. Owasso Blvd.
I have attached copies of pictures taken of this property on January 2, 2004. I have talked to
Steve Grittman about the installation of the alternative heat source and the above ground fuel
tanks. Both of these items were not originally shown on the site plan approved. However, a
building permit was issued for the installation of the fuel tanks in December 2002. The tanks
were inspected by Duane Williams and are up to code (permits should not have been issued
without the CUP amendment). No permits have been issued for the alternative heat source.
Steve indicated that Precision Tree would need to come in and amend the original CUP to allow
for these items.
As for the outdoor storage, it is all over the property. The amount being stored greatly exceeds
the 3,750 square feet allowable. The outdoor storage is also not currently screened. I have
attached a copy of the approved site plan.
We mailed the attached letter to Precision Tree to deal with these violations.
Buetow Brothers — 3104 Edgerton Street
Attached is the letter hand delivered to Buetow Brothers on December 5, 2003. The following
day after receiving the letter I received a call from Bob Buetow. He indicated to me that the
concrete blocks /debris located in the ditch along County Road D are going to be used for fill.
The have applied for a permit with the County to install a driveway permitting access to the
property off of County Road D. I indicated to him that although a permit was applied for with
the County he still needed to pull a fill /excavating permit with the City.
