reconstruction policy to projects such as those by pointing out that when County Road D and
Edgerton are reconstructed in the future, it is likely there would be assessments.
• Another resident believed that the State was picking up the cost of street reconstruction and was told
by a MnDot official there would be no costs to them as property owners. The City Administrator
again reviewed the cost/revenue breakout included in the handout materials. He noted that the road
itself is being covered entirely by MnDot and County Funds. However, the City is absorbing
$186,748 of storm sewer costs.
The City Administrator again acknowledged that this is not a typical road improvement project. The impact
of raising the grade of the Edgerton Bridge does negate the typical benefits we would expect from this project.
He acknowledged that appraisals might be necessary to prove up the "benefits received" contention. He went
on to state that it is important for the City to go through this process to ensure we provide a basis for the
decisions we ultimately make. He urged those present to attend the hearing and restate their position to the
City Council.
The City Administrator stated that this information would be presented to the City Council at their June 9"
meeting.
H: \GregS \Streets \Neighorhood Meetings \Edgerton Street Bridge Approaches Neighborhood Meeting Minutes.doe
-4-
