Display Cases <br />• Hardened display cases should be installed and secured to the floor <br />o Cannot be picked up and thrown if secured to the floor <br />o Not easy to break glass with a fist or a hammer <br />Firearms <br />• Should have gun locks and be cabled and secured at all times in a <br />secured hardened display case when not being shown to a customer <br />• Long guns should have gun locks and be secured together on a wall in <br />an area that is not directly accessible to the public and is attended by <br />an employee who can retrieve the long gun for customer viewing <br />• All firearms should be secured in a safe at closing <br />Ammunition <br />• Should be displayed away from all firearms and secured in a hardened <br />secured display case <br />Safes <br />• A firearms vault safe should be installed and secured to the floor to <br />store all firearms at closing <br />• A drop safe should be installed near the cashier area so that employees <br />can deposit large amounts of cash <br />• Signs should be displayed indicating to customers that employees <br />cannot open safe <br />Doors <br />• All rear exterior doors should be steel <br />• Main customer doors should have bars on them and door guards <br />• Electronic employee controlled access system on main doors to <br />control movement of customers with panic bars so that the doors <br />could be opened from the inside in an emergency <br />• Metal detection should be installed at main doors <br />• Quality industrial door hardware should be installed <br />• Door guards should be installed on all doors to protect all door latches <br />
