bound County Rd 132
Friday, November 5th, 2004, I placed a Speed Display Trailer on County Road B2 to show
motorists the speed that they were traveling. This was in conjunction with the Tube System. The
Trailer and Tube systems were removed on Monday, November 8"'•
A complete report of the Tube System is attached to this report. Also attached is a plotted map of
the violator addresses that were stopped. The vast majority Lived near this location. Most people
stated that they thought the speed limit was 35 Mph.
In my opinion, there is no need for a three -way stop sign to be erected at this location. This
would only cause a false sense of security and would create the problem of people `running or
rolling' the stop sign.
My recommendation would be to post two other additional 30 Mph speed limit signs. These
should be erected just to the west of Greenbrier Circle on both sides of the road.
Speed is present, but this is somewhat accountable to the fact of the hills to both sides of
Greenbrier Circle. Most of the higher speeds were reached after traveling down the hills. Prior to
these areas, most vehicles that I observed were traveling at the posted speed limit, or just above.
During my time that I monitored the area, I did observe people walking, jogging, etc.
Construction was also present, but the commercial vehicles were traveling at the posted limit or
Less. I feel that the posted 30 Mph is the correct speed limit. With continued presence and
enforcement, I believe that speeds will reduce slightly, making the neighborhood safer.
Sincerely,
Tim Entner
Ramsey County Sheriff Traffic Deputy
5-
