A typical appointment process that has been used by other cities to address this situation involves <br />advertising the opening, taking applications, screening of the applications, interviews of the selected <br />candidates, and then determining the candidate to be selected. If this process were followed, staff would <br />recommend we advertise in our newsletter (next issue comes out December 11, Channel 16, and articles <br />in the Roseville Review and St. Paul Pioneer Press. Applications could be received until Tuesday, <br />December 14th (one day before our only December meeting). The applications could then be given to the <br />City Council for individual review to select the top choices to be interviewed while allowing enough time <br />to complete the process in time for an appointment at the l" meeting in January (the 12th). <br />The City Council will need to decide on the method of filling the vacancy and specifics of the process you <br />want to follow. <br />
