There are five signs involved in the proposal as follows: 1. Change of freestanding sign face along Highway 36; 167 sq. ft. — no change in size. New wall- mounted, non - illuminated directional sign — 9 sq. ft. Change in wall- mounted channel letter sign along County Road B; 89 square feet — no apparent change in total square footage. a. Change in freestanding sign along County Road B; Change face of main sign - no change in size; b. Change "phone number" panel to "Rental Office" directional sign. Increase from approximately 10 sq. ft. to 36 sq. ft. 5. New fence - mounted directional sign — 18 sq. ft. Signs 1 and 3, as well as the change in the face of Sign 4.a., do not require formal City zoning action since they are replacing existing approved sign panels of the same size. In addition, Sign 5 is interior to the site, and cannot be viewed by passing traffic. The City has typically not applied its sign ordinance to such signs. With regard to Signs 2 and 4.b., these signs represent an increase in the signage on the site. The applicant has suggested that they represent directional information, and is seeking approval of the additional signage based on a concern that visitors to the site are currently confused about which entrance to use to find the rental office.
