I conducted a site inspection again today. Only two of the items in the letter sent September 29
have been corrected. That is the truck parked by the fuel tanks on the paved drive was moved
and the metal debris in the brush was gone. The other items still remained with more violations
present. As indicated in my letter to Precision Tree, the outdoor storage area is surfaced and at
the maximum amount allowed. This area is not screened /fenced as required. The woodpile still
remains by the alternative heat source and the pile by the feel tanks is still growing. There are
woodchips still spread throughout the site and turf has not been established. The fencing
material laying in the weeds still remains. The new woodchip pile Precision Tree has created in
the wooded area along the west property line still remains. During the inspection today it
appeared that chips were being added to the pile. The trees that we were told were going to be
planted around the site still remain in the northwest corner. Most of them are not in good shape.
Behind the building some new small equipment appeared. The flat bed trailer and truck along
with a loader have also been brought back to the site and are being stored by the fuel tanks.
Precision Tree has asked permission to run the alternative heat source for a 2 week window to do
further testing on the unit. Staff has informed that the Council would have to give them
permission to do so and no plans should be made to use the heat source for building heat
purposes on an on -going basis. We have received another call from the Central Boiler vendor
where the item was purchased. The representative indicated that they are looking into the height
of the chimney or the possibility of a different Class A chimney that would also help eliminate
some of the nuisance. Mr. Bruhn is continuing to assist them in this regard.
Staff is requesting direction from the council on how to proceed with this matter.
cc: Ms. Groholski, Precision Tree
Mr. Clarence Bruhn
-2
