September 8, 2004
To: Kathy Glanzer
From: Dan Knudsen
Subject: Absence at the September 9, Planning Commission Meeting
Per our earlier conversation, I have an urgent client matter that requires my attention out
of town. This will likely result in my absence at the monthly meeting of the Planning
Commission.
Per our conversation, I understand that per city policy, this being my fourth absence in
this calendar year and will precipitate my termination from the planning commission.
Unfortunately, this year, the turbulent business climate that my company operates in this
year has created some Last minute trips that happened to fall on our meeting nights. I
believe this is random and not likely to repeat itself.
As vice chair of the planning commission and as a tenured member, I believe we have
functioned well as a team and provided good value to the city. We have not had issues
with absenteeism creating issues with our having a quorum; thus, I believe that
attendance within our group has not had a detrimental affect on the city.
In short, I will accept the decision of the city relative to my position on the commission
and strongly wish to continue my association. Obviously, I will continue to do my best to
be a productive member and make best effort to attend the meetings.
Thanks.
Dan
