cKery
2964'4 ceowezela
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 551174600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www.cllittle-canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director
DATE: September 30, 2002
RE: No Parking on Maple Leaf Court
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
,Jim La\alle
blaze Anderson
Rick Montour
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Some of the residents who live on Maple Leaf Court have expressed concern about the number
of non- resident cars parking on Maple Leaf Court. As a result, the affected residents have
petitioned the City of Little Canada to establish a "No Parking" zone on both sides of Maple
Leaf Court from County Road ID south to, but excluding, the cul -de -sac. Their petition and a
map of the area are attached.
I have field inspected this site. County Road D on the Vadnais Heights side is posted no parking
at any time and there are no parking restrictions on the Little Canada side. However, due to the
narrow shoulder and steep drop off on the Little Canada side of County Road D, there is very
little room for vehicles to park. Currently, parking on Maple Leaf Court is not restricted and
people visiting or living in the apartment complex located across County Road D do occasionally
park their vehicles on this street. The residents who signed the petition occupy the first 3 houses
on either side of Maple Leaf Court as you head south from County Road D. This is the area that
they wish to establish as a No Parking zone.
Based on the above, I recommend that the City Council establish a no parking area along
both sides Maple Leaf Court starting at County Road D and going south to, but excluding
the cul -de -sac.
cc: Maple Leaf Court Residents
