Fill placed above the granular fill should be spread <br />in 6 to 8-inch maximum loose lifts, and should be compacted to <br />achieve at least 946 Maximum Modified Proctor Dry Density, <br />A,SOT,M, D -1557. <br />Al; the extreme south end of the building, wher-, buried <br />organic soils do not exist below the Fill, the existing fill <br />should be subcui: :3•'i to 4 feet, to a base elevation of 875', The <br />exposed fill surface should then be thoroughly rolled and comp <br />cted. Fill necessary to reach design floor level should be a <br />approved, inorganic soil, free of any foreign material or debr }s. <br />It should be spread in 6 to 8 -inch maximum loose lifts and <br />should be compacted to achieve at least 94% Modified Proctor <br />Dry Density, <br />The building may then be supported upon conventional, <br />relatively shallow spread footing foundations based on approve( <br />compacted fill. The footings may be designed for a net allow- <br />able soil bearing pressure of 2000 pounds per square foot. <br />All perimeter footings must be a minimum of 3'z feet <br />below outside finished grade for. Frost protection purposes. <br />Continuous strip footings under bearing walls should be at <br />least 22 inches wide, for practical reasons. Individual interi'r <br />column footings if any, should be 30 inches in their minimum <br />plan dimension. <br />Up to 3' feet of existing fill and buried organic soils <br />should be stripped and removed from the pavement areas.
