10/23 /2002 08:29 FAX 612 664 5850
FEDERAL DEFENDER
laloo2
Little Canada City Council
Page 2
Arcand Opposition Letter
This brings me to the next issue —the property line. The surveyors who were out
previously with spray paint and stakes doing measurements do not appear to have marked
the property line but rather placed markings within our property. The word we received is
that they thought the marks and poles are not the true property line but rather a "meets
and greets" point that the line is pleasured from at some future time. I have some
concerns that, should this project proceed, someone may "inadvertently" demolish to the
incorrect location. If you have viewed our property, you will notice that we have a large
number of mature trees that we do not want to have destroyed.
My husband or I have attended many of the previous meetings. Many of our neighbors
have voiced in detail, an behalf of all neighbors, concerns regarding the pipeline, the
watershed and the impact on wildlife. I believe those issues are well documented already
and I thus won't retype all the details here except to state that I share those valid concerns
as well.
There has been much discussion regarding the road crossing the pipeline. As this is right
next to our yard, we would be directly affected by any pipeline disaster related to that
excavation.
Other long term issues would be how this might impact taxes or possible road
assessments in the future.
I generally do not like to write complaint letters. However, these issues mean a lot to me
and I sincerely hope that you will give them some weight as you review the preliminary
plat and take them into consideration prior to issuing a decision on the matter.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Sandy Arcand
(651) 484 -0586 - Home
(612) 664 -5857 @ Federal Defender's Office
(651) 245 -6476 - Sandy Arcand Cell Phone
