1203. DISCHARGE AND CONCEALMENT <br />1203.010. DISCHARGE OF DEADLY WEAPONS. Except as specifically authorized in <br />this chapter, all discharging and use of deadly weapons within the City of Little Canada are hereby <br />prohibited. The term "deadly weapon" as used herein shall include the following: all firearms; bows <br />and arrows when arrows are point tipped; all instruments used to expel at high velocity any pellets of <br />any kind, including, but not limited to B -B guns and air rifles; sling shots; sand clubs; metal <br />knuckles; and daggers, dirks and knives. <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to shoot, discharge, or explode any preparation of potash, mixture <br />of sulphur and saltpeter, nitroglycerin, dynamite, plastic explosive, fireworks, or any other kind of <br />explosive material, and all such acts are hereby prohibited unless specifically authorized by permit <br />issued by the City. <br />1203.020. CONCEALED WEAPONS. It shall be unlawful for any person within the limits <br />of Little Canada to carry or wear concealed about his person, any pistol, dagger, switch blade knife, <br />bowie knife, razor, metal knuckles, or any other dangerous or deadly weapons. <br />1203.030. TERM. The term firearms, as used in this Code, shall include gas guns, pressure <br />guns, air guns, or other guns. <br />1203.040. CONFISCATION BY CITY. Any weapons or explosive materials duly adjudged <br />by the Municipal Court to have been discharged, worn or carried in violation of this Code shall be <br />confiscated and such weapons shall be turned over to the Chief of Police of the City of Little Canada <br />to be kept, sold or disposed of in the manner herein provided. <br />1203.050. USE BY LITTLE CANADA POLICE. Any weapons or materials confiscated <br />pursuant to this Code may be kept or used by the police department if such are adaptable to police <br />purposes. Any weapons and materials which would be dangerous to reintroduce into channels of <br />private sale or use, may, in the discretion of the City police, be destroyed. Any weapons or materials <br />which may be safely placed in the hands of private owners may be sold by the police at public <br />auction pursuant to at least two (2) weeks published notice of such sale. <br />1203.060. NOT APPLICABLE. This Code shall not apply to police officers or other <br />authorized personnel when using firearms or other weapons in the regular course of performing their <br />duties. <br />1203.070. LICENSE. A license to carry concealed weapons or to discharge firearms may be <br />issued by the Council pursuant to application to the City Administrator. The fee for such license <br />shall be Three Dollars ($3.00) and such license shall expire at the end of the calendar year in which <br />it is issued. Every license shall state the name, age, location and residence of the person to whom it <br />is <br />granted and each such license shall be approved and countersigned by the City police officer before <br />delivery to the licensee. <br />1203 -1 <br />
