Without denigrating Boater's Outlet, I would again urge the Council to approach this issue cautiously.
Outdoor storage violations have been a major code enforcement issue. Valor Enterprises in Ryan
Industrial Park promised an orderly site when they moved here just a few years ago. Today, they have
numerous code violations related to excessive storage of inoperable vehicles. Mr. Kloskin himself has
noted, as have other business owners such as Carl Johnson of Drywall Supply, the difficulty of finding a
location in the metro area that allows this type of use. Therefore, do we want to make zoning changes to
encourage more of this type of use when we already have areas where it is allowed? While I understand
our desire to support small business operators, especially those with a history in our community, I am not
sure this site is an appropriate location.
cc: Glen Kloskin, Boater's Outlet
