MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 24, 2002
reconstructed. I -le noted that the City has been typically reconstructing
streets to seven -ton standards Nine -ton standards are used For industrial
streets.
A resident of the area indicated that Jackson Street has not been posted
during the spring thaw season For the past three years. The Public Works
Director indicated that the street would he posted beginning with the 2003
spring thaw season. Fahey noted that semis will not be allowed to utilize
this road during times it is posted.
Bob DeBace agreed with the residential property owners present that the
semi truck traffic On Jackson Street is causing a mess for the
neighborhood.
Anderson asked if the site plan coulcl be reconfigures so that there are two
access points onto County Road C. Anderson noted the steep grade of the
property on the west would make a second access point on County Road C
very expensive.
Anderson asked how Jackson Street came to be designated as three -ton.
He noted that there are very sandy soil conditions in this area and Felt that
the street could support a higher weight limit.
The City Administrator suggested that staff review the matter and come
back with a recommendation for Council's consideration. Scalze
suggested that Poolside work with the City Planner and staff to determine
if there are alternatives that can be worked out.
Montour pointed out that Poolside is a good business in Little Canada and
one that wants to eliminate its outdoor storage and add onto its existing
building.
There was no one present with additional comments on this matter.
Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Fahey, the public hearing was
closed.
vlr.
