MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 24, 2002 <br />There was no one from the general public present indicating a desire to <br />discuss the Poolside Addition. <br />Upon motion by Fahey, seconded by Anderson, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />LaValle asked if Poolside's access to Jackson Street would be eliminated <br />as part of this project. Rob Anderson, Poolside, indicated that they plan to <br />continue using this access. LaValle reported that he has heard from <br />residents along Jackson Street of problems with Poolside blocking the <br />street at times preventing access to their homes. <br />Rob Anderson indicated that this has occurred on only one occasion, and <br />Poolside addressed the problem with its delivery vendors. A resident of <br />Jackson Street disagreed and indicated that the situation occurred again <br />just this morning with delivery trucks parking on Jackson Street blocking <br />access. <br />Anderson reported that they currently lease 5,000 square feet of <br />warehouse space nearby. Once the addition is constructed, they will no <br />longer lease this space thus eliminating the traffic back and forth between <br />the County Road C location and the lease space on the other side of <br />Jackson Street. <br />A resident indicated that in addition to access to Jackson Street being <br />blocked, semis have blocked access to mailboxes interfering with <br />residents' mad delivery_ It was also noted that truck traffic in and out of <br />Poolside onto Jackson Street is not turning properly and semis are driving <br />over adjacent properties. <br />Fahey pointed out that even though there are residential home on Jackson <br />Street, the property is zoned General Business (B -3). A resident noted that <br />the homes were zoned residential until 1964 when they were rezoned to <br />commercial. Poolside was constructed in approximately 1978 after the <br />homes were constructed. A resident presented the Council with a copy of <br />City Council meeting minutes from 1984 wherein the Council indicated <br />that Poolside would no longer be allowed to use Jackson Street. The <br />resident noted that Jackson Street is considered a 3 -ton road, however, it is <br />being used by semi- trucks delivering to Poolside. <br />At this point in the meeting, the consensus of the Council was to reopen <br />the Public Hearing. Upon motion by Anderson, seconded by Montour, the <br />Public Hearing was reopened. <br />8 <br />
