City of Little Canada, Minnesota <br />Ordinance <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 903 OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE, KNOWN AS <br />THE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STORM SHELTER <br />BUILDINGS IN MANUFACTURED HOME PARKS. <br />The City Council of the City of Little Canada hereby ordains: <br />Section 1. <br />Section 903.010 M. is hereby amended by adding the following: <br />M. 3. A non - conforming mobile home park shall be permitted to add one <br />(1) accessory building for the purposes of providing an on -site <br />storm shelter for residents of the park. Said shelter shall be <br />of a size necessary to accommodate the estimated maximum <br />population of the park, said population to be determined by the <br />City Council. The shelter shall be located no closer than ten <br />(10) feet to any perimeter lot line or private street, nor closer <br />than twenty (20) feet to any public street right of way. Said <br />shelter shall meet the standards of the Minnesota Commissioner of <br />Health as may be adopted or amended. No shelter building shall <br />be utilized for the storage of materials, equipment or property <br />of the park operators, owners, residents, or any other person. <br />Prior to construction, the shelter shall be reviewed and approved <br />according to the process outlined in the Zoning Ordinance for <br />Conditional Use Permits (Section 921). However, the shelter <br />shall be considered to be a part of the non - conforming <br />improvements to the property, and shall be subject to the rest of <br />the provisions of Section 903.010 relating to non - conforming <br />buildings, structures and uses. <br />Section 2. <br />This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its <br />passage and publication. <br />Michael I.
