`(J+ o/ d Y6DG(B `CJCUIZCL k
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www.ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director
DATE: January 18, 2002
RE:
Little Canada Road Improvements Project
Partial Pay Estimate No. 10
MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL.
Beverly Sealze
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
I have reviewed the Little Canada Road Improvement Project Pay Estimate No. 10 for Palda and
Sons, Inc. This pay estimate includes adjustment of quantities to match the work completed on
this project, additional payment for bituminous wear placement agreed to in Change order #1,
and the reduction of the amount retained. The City Engineer has inspected the work performed
by Palda and Sons, Inc. and finds it to be in compliance with the plans, specifications, and
contract documents.
The original contract amount is $1,765,242.32, however, the contractor has only earned
$1,591,493.51 to date. This project is substantially complete, except for reestablishment of grass
around the storm water pond; therefore, the total project cost will be less than the original
contract amount.
Since the project is substantially completed and contractor has completed the punch list items we
have reduced the retainage down to 1.0 %. The remainder of the retainage ($15,914.94) is
sufficient to cover any remaining turf establishment work that may be needed and will be held
until all of this work is completed in the spring of 2002.
The total due the contractor this period is $9,306.07 + $23,639.75 released retainage =
$32,945.82. Based on the above, I recommend Council approval of Pay Estimate No.10 in
the amount of $32,945.82.
lI: \GregS \Pay Estimates \Pay Estimate No. 10 Palda.doe
