storm water for the Market Place property and some of the adjacent properties and
improve water quality in Round Lake.
Potential for vacating First Bank Drive between Middle Street and Market Place
Drive. The benefits for this option are an increase of developable land in this
area, relocation of the transit hub to take advantage of their infrastructure as part
of our streetscape project, and elimination of maintenance costs associated with
this portion of road.
> Vacation of Middle Street north of First Bank Drive. The engineer is
experiencing a problem in matching the grades of the new Market Place Drive at
the intersection of Middle Street. Vacation of this portion of road would solve
this problem in addition to providing more developable land and eliminate
maintenance and reconstruction costs associated with this portion of road.
It should be noted that the owners of the Market Place Shopping Center have committed
to reconstructing their parking lot this summer in conjunction with the Market Place
Drive project. This will be done at their expense and outside of our contract. A new
parking lot will achieve improved aesthetics, drainage, and flow in that area.
The City Engineer will be present at Wednesday's meeting to review some of the issues
associated with the infrastructure.
cc: Bob Grootwassink
Mark Hotzler
2
