9GL'GG' Cana 4
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048
www.ciAittle-eanada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Manson, City Administrator
DATE: December 12, 2003
RE: Unweave the Weave 1Vleeting Schedule
MAYOR
Michael L Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
13i11 Blesener
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
MnDot has informed me that they will likely be able to add the retaining wall between Edgerton
and Valento Lane extended. They are not optimistic about the smaller one to the east due to
screening of existing business and the impacts to a Naegle sign. They will remove the wall in
front of the two homes on Country Drive but will retain the proposed wall in front of Quebec
apartments due to noise standard requirements and concerns about equitable treatment of
residents. We would need a subdivision proposal to change the calculations for the extension of
the Twin Lake area wall.
We should now plan for the neighborhood meeting with our residents as well as the public
hearing we will need to hold before granting municipal consent. In looking at our January
calendar, I believe the following dates could work for the Neighborhood Meeting:
• Tuesday, January 6th.
• Monday, January 12th.
• Tuesday, January 13th.
The public hearing before the City Council could be made part of our second meeting in January
(the 28th). However, depending on the interest of the residents as well as other agenda items, it
may be better to plan for this hearing on a separate evening. If you agree, the possible dates
could be:
• Monday, January 26th.
• Tuesday, January 27th.
The Council needs to establish preferences for these meeting dates. By copy of this letter, I am
asking for MnDot's availability for the dates listed. I will have their input by Wednesday's
meeting.
cc: Jeff Gibbens
