Re lace Sewer Cleanin Nozzles for Vactor
The nozzles used to clean our sewers have worn out and need to be replaced. Replacement cost for
the needed nozzles is $6,000.
Leak Detection Contract
The City has water mains that are bedded in soils that shorten the life of our system. If we keep our
water system, I am proposing that we establish a leak detection contract for about $2,000 to inspect a
section of our system every other year to proactively find leaks in our water system. This will help
reduce water loss in our system and thus the loss of revenues for the city.
Inflow Inspections (Apartments /Commercial)
We are still experiencing some clear water inflow into our sanitary sewer system and suspect that
some of this may be due to roof drains on apartments and commercial buildings. We are proposing to
have the city engineer perform inspections of these buildings for the estimated cost of $5,000.
Tower Overhead Door
The existing water tower overhead door is worn out and needs to be replaced. We have tried
numerous times to have it cleaned and adjusted. The replacement cost is $2,000.
Roof for Meter House
The city owns and maintains a small building near Roselawn that contains the meter that is used to
track the amount of water that we get from the St. Paul Water Plant. If we keep the water system, the
roof on this building needs to be replaced. The replacement cost is estimated at $4,000.
8-
