1.01 ADA. "ADA" is the acronym referring to the Americans with Disabilities Act, 42 <br />U.S.C. section 12101 et seq., containing requirements for new transit facilities. <br />1.02 Metro Transit. "Metro Transit" means the organizational unit of the Council <br />which operates the Council's regular route, public transit service in the seven - county <br />metropolitan area. <br />1.03 Project Manager. "Project Manager" means the person(s) designated by each of <br />the parties for purposes of administration of this agreement as authorized to resolve questions <br />that arise or clarification needed during the course of this agreement. The Council's Project <br />Manager is Chris Weyer. The City's Project Manager is Joel Hanson. <br />1.04 Little Canada Transit Center Project. "Little Canada Transit Center Project" <br />or "Project" refers to all activities for the design, construction, and finishing of the Little Canada <br />Transit Center improvements. <br />1.05 Contractor. "Contractor" means persons or businesses under contract to the City <br />to perform work related to the Project, including design, construction, and construction <br />management activities. <br />II. PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT <br />The Little Canada Transit Center is a new public transit facility which will assist in <br />implementing the Council's regional transit service redesign by permitting creation of a timed <br />transfer route system as part of restructuring Metro Transit services in the northeast suburbs of <br />St. Paul. It will be located in Little Canada along Market Place Drive. An interim facility was <br />previously constructed in this area until a permanent facility could be built. This project will <br />enable the Council to improve suburb -to- suburb and reverse commute service in the St. Paul's <br />Northeast Corridor. The Council will pay for costs to construct this project, as designated in <br />Exhibit "A ", including street and facility improvements. <br />- 3 - <br />
