MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
MARCH 13, 2008
asked if Maietta would have no need for outdoor storage once the
garage is constructed. Maietta replied that that was coil•ect.
Maietta reported that the wellness business would have similar hours to
his business. He indicated that Temo Sunrooms is open until 8:00 p.m.
on the weekdays and is open on Saturdays. Maietta stated that the
businesses would be scheduled around the convenience of their
customers.
Maietta felt that he should be allowed to utilize his parking lot for the
parking of these display trailers. He indicated that if it is a problem that
his vans are parked behind the building, he could move them to the
front. Maietta stated that his parking lot has 80 parking spaces, and
when he purchased the property, he thought he would be able to use the
parking lot.
Duray pointed out that the main issues of concern are the outdoor
storage of the display trailers and the dumpster. Duray suggested that
an option would be to allow the display trailers to be store outside until
the garage is built. Knudsen felt that condition should apply to the
gazebo. Knudsen pointed out that the economics of the business may be
that the garage is not built for another two or three years. Knudsen felt
that the outdoor storage of the dumpster should not be allowed, and that
Mr. Maietta would have to find another solution for the disposal of job
site refuse. Knudsen also felt that the outdoor storage of the display
trailers on a long-term basis was a problem.
Duray stated that he could support the outdoor storage of the display
trailers for a year. Maietta stated that he would be willing to find
permanent storage of the display trailers during the winter months.
Knudsen noted that if the outdoor storage request is denied, Maietta
would be forced to that solution. Maietta noted that during the spring to
fall months, the trailers would be offsite perhaps five days a week and
back to 2905 Country Drive two days per week. He indicated that some
cities will allow the trailers at the stores for two weeks.
Grant stated that given the display trailers would be gone most of the
summer, he was agreeable to allowing them over the spring to late fall
months.
Barraclough suggested that the outdoor storage of the display trailers be
allowed on the property until October 31, 2008. Barraclough stated that
he did not support the outdoor storage of the commercial dumpster. He
indicated no problem with the outdoor display of the gazebo.
Barraclough suggested that the wellness business was better located in a
retail area, and did not see the mix of the two businesses.
6-
