In addition, there is more area for on- street parking along the west side of Park Street because there is only one driveway entrance on that side of the street. If the no parking zone were to be imposed along the west side of Park Street it would provide an unobstructed line of site for drivers of vehicles using the apartment building parking lot driveway. In addition, the residents along the east side of the street would be able to park in front of their houses. However, as mentioned above, view may be obstructed for drivers backing out of driveways on the east side of the street. Also, there is less area for on- street parking along the east side of Park Street because of the number of driveway entrances and mailbox locations. No Parking On Both Sides of the Street — In some instances, the City has restricted on- street parking on both sides of the street. Obviously, line of site would be improved for both sides of the street. In order to accommodate residents who periodically require on- street parking due to special events, the City issues on- street parking permits upon request. The City Council briefly discussed this matter, at their August 13th meeting. They directed staff to inform the impacted owners of this issue. In addition to contacting you about this issue, staff has also chosen to survey the impacted owners to determine the preference of the majority of the property owners. Therefore, I would like to request that you complete the survey form below and return it in the enclosed postage -paid envelope on or before August 21st. The Council will be presented with a summary of this information for consideration at their August 27th regular meeting. Please keep in mind that the Council will consider the results of the survey in making their decision, but it will not necessarily be their only consideration. .4
