MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JUNE 12, 2003
agreement with recommendation 4. Recommendation 5 can be complied
with, but noted that the concept site plan lines the building frontages along
with Rice Street with that of The Lodge. Recommendation 6 is
acceptable.
Sherman noted that the redevelopment plan leaves US Bank out at this
time. Sherman felt, however, that eventually they will be included. He
presented a concept plan that showed how the US Bank redevelopment
can be incorporated into this plan.
Barraclough asked what will happen with the pond if the US Bank
property is redeveloped. Sherman replied that the pond will be eliminated.
He pointed out that the City pond to the east will serve the area. Sherman
anticipated, however, that lie would recreate a pond on the US Bank site
for aesthetic purposes. Sherman again informed the Commission that he is
seeking preliminary approvals this evening with final approvals to be
requested as part of the July meeting cycle. Sherman stated that he
anticipated being under construction with the first commercial building in
August or September.
Sherman indicated that in reviewing the recommendations of the City
Engineer, he is in agreement at this point, and will work with the Engineer
as part of the final approval process.
Barraclough recommended approval of the Concept Stage and
Development Stage PUD for The Village at Little Canada subject to
compliance with the recommendations of the City Planner and the City
Engineer as discussed this evening.
Motion seconded by Knudsen.
Motion carried 7 — 0.
Barraclough recommended approval of the Architectural Review for the
first commercial building as submitted.
Motion seconded by Wojcik.
Motion carried 7 — 0.
