MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 24, 1998 <br />Fahey suggested to Chester that next year she come in to discuss alternate <br />plans with the Council. However, for this year, unless the majority of the <br />Council does not wish to go forward with the goose management program, <br />it will proceed. Fahey stated that he did not want to wait for a five -year <br />study to be concluded, while in the meantime, residents are <br />inconvenienced and City parks are desecrated. <br />Chester asked that the City not take all the geese this year. <br />Fahey stated that he understood the depth of feeling that Chester has on <br />the issue, and indicated that next year the Council would consider other <br />options. However, the City has a nuisance which it must address. <br />RECESS At this point in the meeting, 9:45 P.M., Council took a short recess. The <br />meeting was reconvened at 9:52 P.M. <br />CONSENT <br />AGENDA <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98 -6 -153 — APPROVING THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA WHICH CONTAINED THE FOLLOWING: <br />*APPROVING THE TEMPORARY LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE <br />CANADIAN DAYS COMMITTEE FOR A UGUST 7, 8, 9, 1998; <br />*APPROVING THE TEMPORARY SIGN PERMIT FOR CANADIAN <br />DAYS AND WAIVING THE PERMIT FEE; <br />*CLOSING FUND 801 AND TRANSFERING THE NEGATIVE <br />FUND BALANCE TO THE GENERAL FUND <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />GUERIN The City Attorney submitted for Council action a resolution initiating <br />PROPERTY acquisition of the Guerin property located at 2822/2826 Rice Street as well <br />as a resolution establishing just compensation for the property based on <br />the appraised value. The Attorney reported that these resolutions should <br />be considered and acted on by the City's Economic Development <br />Authority. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />19 <br />-8- <br />
