FROM : DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING
Drainage, Grading and Utility Plan
PHONE NO. : 7766711 Jun. 10 2003 04:06PM P3
Item 1) Mr Greg Shadder, City of Little Canada Public Works, said that this temporary turn
around would be acceptable. This is the same temporary turn around as is existing on Leeward
Way and is an acceptable standard as approved by the City Council of Little Canada.
Item 2) 1 have enclosed the proposed low profile manhole detail. This catch basin can be built as
proposed. The last project in Little Canada I used this structure was on the Stookness
Construction Incorporated's site plan located at 3065 Spruce Street. This is a temporary sewer
system until the proposed Leeward Way is extended south. This temporary storm sewer would
be removed and a new storm sewer would be constructed from the south as per the City of Little
Canada's concept plan. I prefer to use this catch basin and pipe as shown. Maximum velocity of
an open flow culvert occurs at 0.91 of the 12" Diameter which equals 0.9 feet. An alternative
would be a curb cut and a parabolic grass drainage swale.
Item 3) We have met with Mr. Cliff Aichinger, Ramsey- Washington Metro Watershed District,
(Phone 651- 704 - 2089). Mr. Aichinger as review the Preliminary Plat and said that no watershed
permit was necessary. Mr Aichinger also said that you are to call him if you need confirmation.
Sincerely,
DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING. P.A.
Jonathan L.
